Pronunciation: (bāt'sē-un), [key] Ecol.
the protective resemblance in appearance of a palatable or harmless species, as the viceroy butterfly, to an unpalatable or dangerous species, as the monarch butterfly, that is usually avoided by predators. Cf. Müllerian mimicry.
