cu'bic meas'ure

1. the measurement of volume or space by means of cubic units.
2. a system of such units, esp. that in which 1728 cubic inches = 1 cubic foot and 27 cubic feet = 1 cubic yard, or that in which 1000 cubic millimeters = 1 cubic centimeter, 1000 cubic centimeters = 1000 cubic decimeters, and 1000 cubic decimeters = 1 cubic meter.
