a yellow, crystalline, water-soluble, intensely bitter, poisonous acid, C6H3N3O7, used chiefly in explosives. Also called carbazotic acid, nitroxanthic acid, pi'cro•ni'tric ac'id Pronunciation: (pī'krō-nī'trik, pī"krō-), [key] trinitrophenol.
