a colorless, liquid, water-immiscible, nitrogenous base, C9H7N, having a disagreeable odor, occurring in coal tar, and usually prepared by oxidizing a mixture of glycerol and aniline: used as a solvent and reagent and to make dyes. Also called leucoline.
