slaked' lime'




a soft, white, crystalline, very slightly water-soluble powder, Ca(OH)2, obtained by the action of water on lime: used chiefly in mortars, plasters, and cements. Also called calcium hydroxide, calcium hydrate, hydrated lime, lime hydrate.
