Pronunciation: (sOOp'fin"), [key]
a requiem shark, Galeorhinus zyopterus, inhabiting the Pacific Ocean, valued for its fins, which are used by the Chinese in the preparation of a soup, and for its liver, which is rich in vitamin A. Also called soup'fin".
