1. Arthur, 1736–1818, American Revolutionary War general, born in Scotland: 1st governor of the Northwest Territory, 1787–1802.
2. a river in the N central U.S. and S Canada, flowing S from Lake Huron to Lake St. Clair, forming part of the boundary between Michigan and Ontario. 41 mi. (66 km) long.
3. Lake, a lake between SE Michigan and Ontario, Canada. 26 mi. (42 km) long; 460 sq. mi. (1190 sq. km).
