mercu'ric chlo'ride



Chem.
a white, crystalline, water-soluble, strongly acrid, highly poisonous solid, HgCl2, prepared by sublimation of chlorine with mercury, and used chiefly as an antiseptic. Also called bichloride of mercury, mercury bichloride.
