1. the act of giving or conveying something to another person for additional use: Readership passalong means that three people read every copy of the magazine.
2. the act, policy, etc., of compensating for increased costs by incorporating them in the price charged a customer or client: a passalong to hotel guests of rising energy costs.
3. the additional amount charged; surcharge: a passalong of thirty cents per gallon of gas.
